We are very pleased to say that we were a part of RightsCon 2019, we introduced Arab world internet institute, it’s mission which is “to promote, enable and recognize the power of the internet to benefit the Arab society” it’s vision, philosophy, what we are aiming and fighting for, It provided a great opportunity for AWII to engage with the network, community and build valuable connections with various different organizations, groups, foundations, societies….

One of the many highlights of AWII’s conference attendance that we had got a great positive feedback for it , was introducing and talking about “the Middle East and Adjoining Countries School on Internet Governance” program, that offers participants a great opportunity to better understand the roles of different Internet stakeholders, including ICANN. The program informs and strengthens the regional Internet community to help ensure effective participation in Internet governance. The school also encourages participants to engage in group discussions and projects around key policy issues such as cybersecurity, content regulation, competition access……

Arab world internet institute was a part of a plethora of interesting debates and sessions around controversial issues and so many problems facing internet policies in the Arab societies such as internet governance, surveillance, data protection, gender and privacy. We brought our perspective and what we are fighting for to different emerging topics across the globe, we also were a part of The Community Village it was such a delight opportunity, we had a good time and hang out with various foundations, societies….. We talked about their/our work, services, future plans……

In other hand we have presented through lightning talks interesting new ideas, to a various talented experts across fields on new and controversial issues, subjects, and ideas.
