The underlying assumption of our work is that the Internet plays a major role in the way humanity is evolving, both as individuals and as communities. Therefore, the Internet is not simply a matter of personal usage of networks, it has direct implications for social, political and economic interactions.

The role of the Internet in providing both personal and social growth as well as a strong social network that can be mobilized by different actors as they develop and implement their policies. It offers them opportunities for ambitions but also boundaries and challenges.

The power of the Internet lies in its ability to become a channel of mobilization in support of policies, and often it provides the only social forum in which to raise opposition to authorities.
